Great FREE resources for photography, video and audio projects.
Cambridge in Colour
Sean McHugh very generously offers his expertise in taking and editing phenomenal images. His work is stunning, and I appreciate how much care he takes to help you take a good solid photograph in the first place, so your editing serves to simply enhance what you've already got. He's got mouseover functions in place in the tutorials, so you can see exactly what the effects are on a given image. I started using this resource in design school and have continued to visit the site from time to time when I have a client shoot coming up and need to try some things out, or get help on lighting tips, etc. Some of the tutorial subjects include:
- Guide to Image Sharpening
- Macro Lenses: Magnification & Effective F-Stop (advanced)
- Using Wide Angle Lenses
- How to Calibrate Your Monitor for Photography
- Camera Lenses: Focal Length & Aperture
- Camera Exposure: Aperture, ISO & Shutter Speed
- Understanding Depth of Field
- Understanding Histograms: Tones & Contrast
